''The Beninese Cultural Week of the 9th Arrondissement (SCB-9)'' is an artistic and cultural event, proposed by the association IALO and executed by Réseau Label Coach in collaboration with the council of the 9th Arrondissement of Cotonou and which is at its second edition. It is an annual festival whose first edition took place from February 20 to 27, 2018 in the districts of the ninth arrondissement and the festival village located on the ACOUSTIC ESPACE located on the deserted ground in Vossa in the street of the Fifadji police station .

The official opening of the SCB-9, the Company "  TOFFODJI  " gave a performance '' HWEDO '' traditional dance rich in color highlighting our rhythms and customs followed by '' Commissioner '' "  the story of a young boy who robbed for bread. Before arresting and taking the boy to the police station, the officer fired three bullets in the air, which bullets hit one of his colleagues in another alley. The child brought to the police station turns out to be the son of the commissioner and a prostitute who is now dead. Will the child be  incarcerated or...  ?  of the Compagnie 27 Mars Théâtr Bénin at the Espace Culturel Acoustique of the 9th Arrondissement.  After the two shows of the official launch of the festival on Saturday February 26,  the Salsa Dance Troupe, the Tale of Toukas (Parakou), the choreography of the artists of the modern dance session of the UCAE, the Humorous Company ''SEDEGBE'' of AKOGBATO, the Traveling Storytellers and those of the Association Saturday evening Theater followed one another for their performances.  

After the meeting of heads of schools, political and administrative authorities, the training of managers and members of companies  and the storytelling tour in the targeted schools of the 9th  district, from Monday 20 to Friday 25 February  ; the festival hosted theater performances, traditional and modern dances, Salsa dances, clown, one man show, comedy...etc

Note also the participation of Beninese and Catholic scouts for the Health Day on the morning of Saturday, February 27, 2018.

''The Beninese Cultural Week of the 9th Arrondissement (SCB-9)'' which is in its third edition, is an artistic and cultural event, organized by YAD AFRICA

It is an annual festival whose first edition took place from February 20 to 27, 2018 in the districts of the ninth arrondissement and the festival village located on the ACOUSTIC ESPACE located on the deserted ground in Vossa in the street of the Fifadji police station . This edition will take place in February 2021 from 20 to 27 in collaboration with the ninth council, the Ministry of Culture and other partners. The festival's organizing committee will select the best shows around the issues of the arts and tourism. Artists will come to Benin from all over the world.

The execution of ''The Beninese Cultural Week of the 9th Arrondissement (SCB-9)'' takes place in six (06) activities namely  : Shows  of Tales, Dances, Theatres, Fashion Shows, Clowns and Plastic Arts.

The production of a radio documentary and a video for the promotion of the partners and the festival, will be carried out by OKIO KEBO, Promoter of web radio: Acoustics and web tv: Claxik tv.

          Professionals and project leaders will honor their presence through a master class, a symposium, training workshops, the programming of shows in schools and students, in the markets and hospitals of the district.

          Visits to tourist sites will be made, a public speaking contest will be organized for language students with a view to promoting our mother tongues, etc.          

          SCB-9 2021 will take place in the districts of: Vossa, Fifadji, Zogbo, Zogbohouè, Mènontin, Kindonou. In addition to the public spaces and the village of the festival selected for shows, the artists will intervene in schools, colleges, universities, markets, hospitals in the 9th District of Cotonou

ACTIVITIES

PRESS CONFERENCE AT THE 9TH CONFERENCE ROOM
On the eve of the opening of the SCB-9, the organizing committee and at its head the promoter will hold a press conference in the conference room of the 9th arrondissement. This press conference will bring together the written press, radio, television, communication agencies, partners, authorities and the organizing committee. At this meeting, the speaker will present the program and confirm its effectiveness.

OPENING EVENING FOLLOWED BY THE SHOW
That day, after the arrival and installation of the guests, the opening ceremony will start with an animation of the folk groups, in particular the Company "TOFFODJI" of SENOU LOKO Franklin, the performance of All-Circuis  at the festival village. Then there will be short speeches from the organizing committee, sponsors, partners and guests of honour. These interventions will be interspersed with services. The speech of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and  des Sports or his representative will mark the official opening. The ceremony will be immediately followed by an evening of storytelling around the fire at the Superior School of the Republican Police located in Zogbohouè, this evening will highlight the work of Beninese storytellers supported by other storytellers who have come for the occasion. During this evening, national and foreign professional storytellers will follow one another with tales from here and elsewhere under a background of songs and dances.
By choosing to perform at the Ecole Supérieure de la Police Républicaine, SCB-9 aims to allow our officers to have fun for a while and to have a broader vision of the artistic field. The populations will be massively invited to this show.

MASTERCLASS
This activity consists of organizing a professional training day for festival-goers.

SHOWS EVENINGS
Every afternoon during the festival period, in the neighborhoods of the 9th arrondissement, in schools, universities, hospitals, storytelling shows, scenic readings and clowns will be programmed. There will be shows every evening in the festival village.

THE BIG NIGHT OF SCB-9
This evening will be made of tasting of shows, exchanges, projection of a film chosen by the jury, but also an evening of Distinction of:
The best theater show, the best storytelling show, the best dance show, the best clown show, the Man of the Festival, the Woman of the Festival, Audience Award, Jury Prize, Honorary Distinctions 04.

SYMPOSIUM
The SCB9 gives a share to the reflection accompanied by proposals and recommendations. the  symposium will bring together professors, researchers and professionals to reflect on the theme “The Importance of the arts for development”, Africa Sound City in Mènontin.

Literary touch (exhibitions-sales-stage readings)
The SCB-9, will exhibit in schools and universities works by Beninese authors at unbeatable prices allowing students to appropriate and use them at a lower cost. Also a selection of a work on the program will be created and staged by professional directors for a school tour. This action of the SCB-9, aims to strengthen the level of reading of the pupils and students of the district.

Exhibition/Opening
As part of the SCB9 project, the Association will launch a call for residence for painters  support artistic creations.
Terms:
- Provision of a workspace and equipment for the association

The artist must send his application by email containing the following documents:
- An artistic CV – contacts: email/phone/fb…
- A biography of the artist
- A presentation of the project
- A schedule for the realization of the project in one week
- A letter of intent expressing the project and the artistic approach

Film screening
This year, we have included in our lines the fight against violence against girls and women through a tour of the district of films selected by a jury made up of professionals from the seventh arts.
